Gunilla bell tower | The bell tower known as the Gunilla, stands still after so many years. It is located on this bastion of the castle (in turn situated on a hill aside to Uppsala old town) it had important communication roles, such as a curfew bell, that is signaling the inhabitants that the day is over and should return back to their homes. The bell was originally casted in 1588 and presented to the castle by Queen Gunilla. |
